I am Associate Professor (Titular de Universidad) of Medical Imaging and Electronics in the School of Industrial Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València and member of the Center for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and of the Department of Electronic Engineering.


My research interests lie in the area of biomedical image and signal processing, image physics and acquisition, new technologies for data acquisition and reconstruction in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and in particular the study of new methods and applications of medical imaging, with a special focus on the field of MRI.


I am currently working, among others, with the following groups: Plasticity of Brain Networks of the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante, the Radiology Department of the Fundación Instituto Valenciano de Oncología, and with the Unidad de Imagen Molecular y Metabolómica, of the Fundación Investigación Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia.


I am also a faculty of the Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and of the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València teaching medical imaging courses.


I am married to Anna Vallés-Lluch, Associate Professor (Titular de Universidad) of Thermodynamics and Biomaterials from the Applied Thermodynamics Department of the Universitat Politècnica de València. We have two nice kids, Carles (2004) and Marc (2006).


Since 2016 I am the Director of the Fundación QUAES Business Chair at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
